This Act may be cited as the Traffic (Amendment) Act, 2011 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, appoint which date shall not exceed ninety days from the date of publication.

Amendment of section 12 of Cap 403.

Section 12 of the Traffic Act is amended by renumbering the existing provision as subsection (1) and inserting a new subsection as follows- (2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), the prescription of the design, colour and identification plate under this section shall make provision for a person to be issued with personalized identification plates bearing his name, initials or such other features as may be prescribed upon payment of a prescribed fee in addition to the fee payable for registration.
