2009 CHAPTER 424 THE PUBLIC FEES ACT Commencement: 26th December, 1961 An Act of Parliament to provide for the levying of fees for licences, permits and other matters arising in public ofces Short title.

1.

This Act may be cited as the Public Fees Act.

Regulations 2.

(1) Subject to the provisions of subsection (3), a Minister may prescribing fees.

make regulations prescribing the fees to be levied for licences, permits and other acts, matters and things issued or performed by or in any public ofce.

(2) Regulations under subsection (1) may make such provision in regard to exemption from and remission of fees as the Minister may think t.

(3) The provisions of subsection (1) shall not apply in the case of any matter in respect of which any other written law makes provision for the levying of a fee, or provides expressly that no fee shall be payable.

These Regulations may be cited as the Public Fees Regulations, 1988.

(i) The fees for issue of passport shall be (a) three thousand shillings for a thirty-two page passport; (b) four thousand ve hundred shillings for a forty-eight page passport; (c) six thousand shillings for a diplomatic passport; (d) three thousand shillings for a service passport; (e) nine hundred shillings for the East African passport.

(ii) A passport issued shall be valid for a period of ten years and shall not be renewable; 3.

(1) The fee for the issue of a replacement of a lost passport shall be L.N.

2009 [Subsidiary] (3) For the purposes of these Regulations, specialized expedited service means a service offered at the request of an applicant where a passport is issued within twenty-four hours of application.

(1) The fee for the issue of a replacement of a mutilated passport shall be eight thousand shillings.

(2) Subject to paragraph (1), an additional fee of ve thousand shillings shall be levied for a specialized expedited service, except where specically exempted by the Minister.

The fee for a collective certicate of identity shall be two thousand shillings and one thousand shillings per person included.

The fee for the issue of Kenya visas shall be (a) twenty-ve United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for an ordinary or entry visa; (b) ten United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a transit visa; (c) fty United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a multiple journey visa; (d) ve United States of America dollars or an equivalent amount in other convertible currency for a reference fee; (e) gratis for diplomatic, ofcial, service and courtesy visas, and for persons of the age of sixteen years and below.
